There are many different causes of shoulder pain
Some explanations or diagnoses that you may have heard include
- Rotator cuff tear
- Arthritis
- Bursitis
- Frozen shoulder
- Tendonitis
Your pain may even be coming from your neck.
A scan may show a rotator cuff tear but that may have been there for a long time and not the cause of your pain. In fact, in 45 -60 year olds, with no shoulder pain or symptoms, over 50% had a tear show up on their scan. Don’t rush to surgery because of what your scan results say!
If you have needed surgery then I can guide you through a step by step rehabilitation program to get you the best results.
I will listen to you and your history and fully assess you to give the right diagnosis so you receive the right treatment to get you back to doing what you love as quickly as possible.
Treatment will include “hands on” work to help regain your movement, with some very specific exercises and maybe some taping. We can use dry needling if that’s something you are comfortable with.
